Zambia

Zambia

Zambia is in Southern Africa. Roughly the size of Texas or France, Zambia is a landlocked country, bordered by Tanzania to the northeast, Malawi to the east, Mozambique to the southeast, Zimbabwe and Botswana to the south, a narrow strip of Namibia known as the Caprivi Strip to the southwest, Angola to the west, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the northwest.

** A vaccination certificate is required for entry for travellers over 9 months of age coming from countries with risk of YF. Proof of vaccination is often required from non-risk countries.

Malaria

Extremely high transmission occurs throughout the year. Chemoprophylaxis is recommended throughout the country.

Traveller’s Diarrhoea

Moderate risk exists in deluxe accommodations, high risk elsewhere. Food and beverage precautions are essential to reduce the likelihood of illness.

A Gastro Kit can be purchased from Travel Vaccination Health care, which includes prescription and non-prescription medications for presumptive self-treatment if diarrhoea occurs.
